Working at a national level
As well as supporting our grassroots network, our small team of staff seek to directly inform and influence key decision-makers. Key activities include:
Supporting All-Party Parliamentary Groups
RESULTS UK provides the secretariat for two All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) in the UK Parliament in Westminster, on Global TB and Microfinance. These are forums for MPs, peers and others to explore and raise awareness of these key policy areas.
Parliamentary delegations
RESULTS organises and leads delegations of MPs and other prominent figures to areas worst affected by poverty and disease in order for them to see first-hand the devastating impact of grinding poverty in many developing countries throughout the world.
In recent years, RESULTS has led parliamentary delegations to Kenya (2005), Ukraine (2006), Kenya and Rwanda (2006), India (2007), South Africa (2007) and Bangladesh (2008).
Advocacy tours
RESULTS also seeks to bring those with knowledge and first-hand experience of poverty and disease related issues to the UK to share their experiences and expertise with UK officials. RESULTS has recently organised advocacy tours with spokespeople from Bangladesh, Kenya, India, Russia and Zambia.

One-to-one meetings and briefing sessions
RESULTS frequently organises meeting with key individuals including Government Ministers, Members of Parliament and others who may have the power and/or influence to affect change.
Building such relationships is a crucial component of our overall strategy to create the political will necessary to bring about substantial and long lasting change.
Working in partnership
RESULTS draws strength from the partnerships we have built with other organisations, many of them NGOs. Experts have always been willing to join us, to answer questions, and share their expertise on telephone conferences and at our national and international conferences.
We work informally with a host of organisations in the UK and abroad. In recent years they have included:
